Puri Beach is the most popular beach of Odisha. It is the largest beach in India. This beach is also known as the Golden Beach. This famous beach destination in Odisha is the place where a number of pilgrims come to pay deference to Lord Jagannath. Puri Beach is considered to be safer as it does not face high tide and undercurrent very often.

The beach at Puri offers a unique opportunity to witness the striking sunrise and the sunset on the same beach. Like Chandrabhaga beach, there is a lighthouse at Puri beach which remains open from 4 pm to 6 pm. One can get a scenic view of the sea and the beach from the top of the lighthouse.

For food lovers, this is a good place. One can get fried and grilled seafood like prawns, freshly caught from the sea, crabs and pomfrets, along with vegetable pakodas. There are also many handloom and sea-shell shops on the beach. There are various ways in which one can enjoy it.

Sun temple of Konark: It is counted among 7 wonders of India. The temple is located near the river Chandrabhaga. The temple was built in the shape of chariot.

Archaeological Site Museum is located little away from the main sun temple in north direction. The museum has four galleries displaying 260 various antiquities.

Ramchandi Temple is situated at the bank of river Kushabhadra which flows into the Bay of Bengal. This is a good picnic spot.

Kuruma, a famous Buddhist site is located 8k.m away from the Sun temple.

Pipili is well known for the appliqué handicraft. This handicraft is the livelihood of maximum family in Pipili.

Raghurajpur is famous for Pattachitra Paintings.

The best time to visit Puri is the winter months from November to February are the best time to visit as the weather is at its balmiest best.
